Posts & Pages
Posts are intended for articles, news items, vacancies, etc., and are published in order of date. Pages are used for content that doesn't change that often, such as a contact, team or about page.
To add a new post or page select add new post/page in the horizontal bar or left toolbar in the dashboard .
If you select Posts in the dashboard, you'll get an overview of all posts that have been written.
- At the top of the page you see the total amount, all published, all drafts and all trashed posts.
- The posts are in chronological order and by default contain the following elements: Author, Title, Categories, Tags, the number of comments, and the date the post was published or modified.

- If you move your cursor over the title of a post, a number of options will appear:

- Quick Edit:
Edit the basics of your post: title, date, author, categories & tags
Edit the status of your post: published, draft or pending review.
Make a post sticky: Messages are displayed in chronological order. Making your post sticky will always keep it at the top, regardless of the date.
Make a post visible to a limited audience by protecting it with a password (see also pages)
Trash & view
- By checking the checkboxes you can also edit or delete multiple messages at the same time. Use the Bulk Actions to select the action and click the button to execute .
* If you work with a visual editor such as Visual Composer, Divi Builder or Beaver, there are additional editing options that are not included in this WordPress manual.
Posts can be grouped into categories. If you publish about various subjects, for example film, you can divide the film genres into categories. The Westerns category will then show you all the articles you've published on that topic. You can also add subcategories there. Westerns can be subdivided into Spaghetti Westerns, Animation Westerns, Horror Westerns, etc. By default, a new message is added to the category 'uncategorized'.
You can create, change and delete categories via the dashboard menu or directly when writing your message. If you delete a category, the posts from that category will be assigned to the 'uncategorized' or whatever name you gave it.
